Grief Integration Ritual & Retreat

november 13 - 15, 2026

Three days on the Oregon coast, in ceremony, in community, with people who have stopped pretending they are fine.

Grief Integration Ritual & Retreat

Somewhere along the way we learned some unhelpful things about grief, anger, disappointment, and the idea of being a burden. Somewhere along the way we learned we couldn’t show our messiness, ask for support, let anyone see our heartbreak. Somewhere along the way we learned to carry it alone, pretend that we are fine, distract, “be strong”, avoid, and move on.

It’s time to learn some new things about what it means to be alive. What it means to be a people. What it means to be heart-full and heart broken in these uncertain and dynamic times. It’s time to remember how to grieve together, how to ask for help, how to hold and be held with respect in the breakdown, and to be welcome exactly as we are.

Who is this for?

This retreat holds people carrying all of it: a death, divorce, an aging bodies, dreams that never came true, estrangements, addictions, loneliness with no name, ancestral grief passed down before you had words for it, the quiet unnamed ache that shows up every year around this time whether you invite it or not.

You do not need a fresh loss to belong here. You only need to be willing to feel what has been waiting for you.

The Private Suite (Ocean Solace) is private, with a king bed, for the ones who need a door that closes and their own bathroom at the end of a day like this.

Limited scholarship and sliding-scale spots are available for People of the Global Majority and LGBTQIA+ participants. Reach out before registering if this applies to you.

Grief is a way of loving what has slipped from view. Love is a way of grieving that which has not yet done so.

meet your guide: alyssa rose

I'm Alyssa, a grief ritualist and death doula based in Portland, Oregon. I've sat with hundreds of families as they moved through loss, and I'm also just a person who is grieving. I'm a single mother raising my daughter on land, in an intentional community, still learning what it means to let myself be held, to be a part of a village, and to tell the truth about what hurts.

I don't lead this work from above it. I lead it from inside it, beside you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this therapy?

No. This is a grief ritual and community healing practice, not clinical therapy. If you're in an active mental health crisis, please connect with a provider first — this space is not equipped to hold that alone.

Do I need to know what I'm grieving?

No. Many people arrive without a clear story, or with a vague feeling of being stuck. That's a welcome place to start.

What should I expect physically?

We'll be outside in coastal November weather, so bring layers, waterproof gear, and sturdy shoes. The retreat home has stairs and no elevator access.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellations made 30 or more days before the retreat receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 30 days are not refundable.

Where is it?
